Book #2 in 2005
Finished: 1/15
Title: The Face of Deception
Author: Iris Johansen
Genre: Fiction
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Pages: 480
My Rating: 3/5

The Killing Game should of been the 2nd book in this series but I read it a few years ago. I am actually grateful that I did or else I may never have read the Killing Game which is now one of my fave books.
It's not that this book wasn't good, it just wasn't as well written and fast paced as The Killing Game.

Eve Duncan is a forensic sculptor who is still dealing with the kidnapping and murder of her young daughter. She has dedicated herself to identifying missing children and reconstructing skulls to finally put these children to rest and give their families a sense of closure and peace. She also lives with the hope of someday finding her daughters body.

John Logan, a billionaire shows up suddenly offering her a lot of money to help him identify a skull without telling her any major details, so she lets him know she doesn't want anything to do with him. But he won't give up and she couldn't let herself refuse his final offer to donate a large sum of money to charity for missing children.

But what he doesn't tell her about this mission could possible get her killed!! She turns to help from her long time friend and police officer Joe Quinn who does everything he can to keep her and her mother safe.

The twists and turns in this book will keep you guessing. Definitely worth the read!

  1. I read three of the Eve Duncan series several years ago in between calls when I worked for Blue Cross. I loved them, and I still have Blind Alley to read....I always loved that character.
